IS IT A FISH ?

KING PRAWN 09/40 (2009) acrylic on canvas
40cm x 40cm
£ 90.00 GBP (p&p inc) see below
Due to some technical difficulties this is one of the paintings bound for the Gallery Guesthouse here in Plymouth - it will be delivered next Monday. Karen asked me to produce paintings with local Plymouth / Devon themes. Hopefully people familiar with Plymouth and the Barbican will recognise this - except "the prawn" as it is known here is actually coppery in colour. I liked the idea of taking the prawn and cooking it - there should be enough here for a few thousand people.
The price for this is as above (outside of the UK we would need to come to agreement for shipping cost) - but I would need to discuss with the guesthouse first as it's going to be part of their new exhibition.

  2. Hey Steve - great rendering of the Barbican Prawn, and love your choice of the cooked colour, hehe!

Two or three years ago I canvassed opinion amongst the local shop-keepers and most really disliked it - I wonder if that's changed, now?

    Cheers,

  3. Lazyking - you've summed up the ambivalence that Mark so rightly points out - personally I love the thing and I think there is a definite love/hate relationship with this piece of public art -

For non Plymouth readers - here's a link to the real thing :
